Marlborough, MA - Adcole Corporation, the worlds leader in designing and manufacturing special purpose machines for measuring engine components such as camshafts, crankshafts, and pistons, as well as digital sun angle sensors for space satellites is celebrating its golden anniversary. The company was founded in 1957 by Addison D. Cole who originated the sun (solar aspect) sensor which helps rockets and spacecraft maintain their orientation in space. At age 88, he still serves as president and CEO.

Adcole measuring machines are used by most engine manufacturers throughout the world to help control manufacturing costs by quickly qualifying millions of dollars worth of machine tools and verifying the process capability for millions of parts annually. On the aerospace side of the business, Adcole has supplied solar aspect sensors for more than 700 satellite applications to the world's leading manufacturers and government agencies such as NASA.

According to J. Brooks Reece, VP, "Customers express their confidence in our expertise for high accuracy sensing by approaching us first with their newest measurement challenges. In fact, we invest 10% of our revenues into R/D annually to maintain our technology edge in both product areas."
