Analog Sun Sensors

Over 1,000 Adcole Analog Sun Sensors have been deployed on hundreds of spacecraft since the 1960s. Analog Sun Sensors provide a very large field of view with less accuracy than Adcole’s Digital Sun Sensors.

The Coarse Sun Sensor Detector is a single detector model used for applications including solar-array pointing, sun acquisition, and fail-safe recovery.

The Coarse Sun Sensor Pyramid provides two axes of analog sun angle and sun presence data. The sensor is used for solar array pointing, sun acquisition, and fail-safe recovery. Adcole can custom design mounting brackets and stray light baffles to accommodate any desired field of view/spacecraft geometry.

The Adcole Coarse Analog Sun Sensor is a single axis model used for attitude control, solar array pointing, sun acquisition, and failsafe recovery.  Hundreds of these sensors have flown on earth orbiting and interplanetary programs.
